In the Eye of the Sun

In this novel, Soueif, an Egyptian journalist, takes an intimate look into the lives of modern Arab women. Set amidst contemporary Middle Eastern politics, the narrative recounts the story of Asya, a women who grows up among the Egyptian elite and marries a westernized man. When she goes to England to attend graduate school, she becomes involved with a crass Englishman.
