Dahshur Necklace - Egyptian, Middle Kingdom XII Dynasty

Egyptian Collection - Dahshur is the site of the first uniform (smooth-sided) pyramids of ancient Egypt. This jewelry is adapted from a pectoral, or decorated breast ornament, which belonged to Queen Mereret of Dahshur. The original was excavated near the brick pyramid of Sesostris III by J. de Morgan in 1894-1895. Our adaptation combines semi-precious stones and teardrop shaped gold beads.18" L
