Nefer - Egyptian Strength Symbol - Earrings

Collection of Ancient Egyptian Artifacts and Arts of Ancient Egypt The inspiration for this necklace/earrings comes from a string of beads in the shape of a "nefer"� hieroglyph.  Found by William W. Flinders Petrie on an excavation in 1921, it is now in the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology"™s Egyptian collection.  The pendant created for the necklace and earrings imitates the shape of "nefer"� sign, which means goodness and beauty.  These adornments were intended to symbolically transfer such attributes to the wearer.Earrings, 24 Karat antique gold-plate over pewter.  Ear-wires are gold-plate over sterling silver.
